Q. Don’t all preschools teach phonics and reading?
A. No. Most schools teach letter recognition and what is known as a “reading readiness”. Many preschoolers have already mastered this material before they ever attend preschool. Children at Family First learn the sounds each letter makes and how to blend them together to sound out words.
Q. What are the benefits of a structured preschool program?
A. A structured preschool program that includes a planned curriculum and daily schedule will insure that your child’s learning is directed toward personalized objectives. It also provides security and comfort for children leaving home for the first time.
Q. Do children enjoy attending a preschool that is academic?
A. Yes! We provide a learning environment that engages students. Children learn through songs, games, and movements, as well as by using repetition and practice. Your child will love coming to school. We strive to foster a lifetime love of learning in our students.
Q. I’m not a Christian. Do you teach about Jesus? Can my child attend?
A. Of course! Family First Learning Center does teach about the love of Jesus Christ. Our curriculum includes a Bible time as well as learning about biblical principles and values. We welcome children of all religions at our school.
